(BERNAMA) - BERA: The Government cannot guarantee that the prices of petrol, diesel and gas will remain the same if global crude oil prices continue to rise, said Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
Ismail said the Government is expected to fork out RM17bil in fuel subsidy following an increase in the price of crude oil in the global market.
"We cannot assure that the prices will remain the same, including RON 95 petrol, diesel and gas. The prices will be reviewed by a subsidy rationalisation committee every six months. Last year, the subsidy for fuel was RM10.3bil," he told reporters after opening the Bera Division's Pemuda, Wanita and Puteri Umno meetings here Monday.
He said the petrol and diesel price would be decided after the committee's meeting in June.
"If the Government continues to bear the additional subsidy, its deficit will increase," he said. - Bernama
This is a tell-tale sign of an incompetent Government
A commentator was right in asking
"Why as subsidies decrease, the burden of subsidies increases?"
Any of the "competent" MBA PHD ministers wanna answer this?
Let me tell you 1 thing
I'm all for subsidy cuts
BUT on the condition you remove tolls and taxes on cars
Don't bullshit us with tales that "we have been subsidising a lot"
For one.. it is the tax payers monies paying for the "Subsidies"
So get your facts right..
The government of the day do not own those subsidies..
To hell with subsidies..
We don't need them..
We can survive without them
But first fix the corruption leaks, the unfair taxes, the tolls..
Should I keep on going? - sure?-
The stupid remuneration you call bonus for the PMD, useless projects, white elephants, white washes, useless trials, dumb bail outs under the guise of "Projek Kerajaan BN", wasteful usage of the tax payers money..
I want to see a minimum wage legislation implemented and reviewed every now and then to keep up with the market trends of the world
I want to see a strong Workforce Union capable of bringing our needs to the table of our employers
I want a stop to workforce exploitation and have our working hours conformed to those of developed countries..
I am aware of the implication it has on our "current cheap labour force"
The economy has to go bad in order to get better...
Ever heard of the J-curve?
If not.. please go for economics class.. because then you're unfit for your positions as leaders of our country
If we don't implement above.. don't talk about a developed nation...
Pre-developed also not qualified to be
You think the twin towers and KL Tower is heckuva amazing proof that we're developed?
Think again then!
Do the above FIRST
Then we can talk about cutting or abolishing subsidies..
Don't take us for fools..
We are no longer the budak budak kampung that you all once seek to control like mindless zombies
We have our own freewill
And YES we are smarter now!
WE ARE THE NEW FORCE
WE ARE THE NEW BREED OF RAKYAT MALAYSIA!
so to the government of the day
buck up or get the hell lost..
and to the future governments
same goes to you...
you better start learning now!
